Borno Gov’t Extend Workers’ Retirement Age to 65years

“The Borno state executive governor, his excellency, Babagana Umara Zulum, min, FNSE, CON, has approved the extension of years of service from 35-40 years in service or 65 years of birth, with effect from 1st January, 2022,” the statement reads.

The Borno government says the retirement age for health workers in the state has been extended from 35-40 years in service or 65 years of birth.

According to TheCable, a statement addressed to all local government chairmen, Ibrahim Sheriff, director of primary health care, said the extension was effective from January 1, 2022.

Sheriff said the government also approved that health workers who have retired before or after January 1, 2022, can return to service.

“Accordingly, all those who might have retired on or after 1st January 2022, are enjoined to come back to service willingly.

Zulum had earlier extended the retirement age for all teachers in the state to 65 or after 40 years in service.
