A 52-year-old lecturer at the Faculty of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State, Dr Ayo Ojediran, on Tuesday slumped and died in his office.
The university was thrown into mourning as Ojediran’s colleagues and students said his death was devastating.
Confirming the incident on Wednesday, The Institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Abiodun Olarewaju, described the death of the lecturer an unpalatable incident.
One of the close friends of the deceased, Ayodeji Obisesan, described Ojediran’s death as a shock.
He said, “Such a very nice and humble man to the core. Always willing to help. May your soul rest in perfect peace Dr Ojediran Isaac Ayodele.”
Some of his students also lamented over the death of the lecturer and prayed God to give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
